The rain didn’t stop the party from happening at the Brookhaven Amphitheater Saturday June 26, 2015. Beer Fields 2015 brought hundreds of beer lovers out in the terrible weather for the 4th annual beer festival. Whether craft beer is your thing or not- Beer Fields had something for everyone. The festival included delicious ciders, beers, food, live music and one of a kind merchandise.
Festival goers walked around with their mini beer glasses full from each sample station. The free sampling started at 4pm and went on through the night till 7pm-plenty of time to enjoy some of the exotic and rare brews. As festival goers filled and sipped on their drinks, Funknasty, Dumpstaphunk, Ground Swell, The Offshore Regulars and many other bands played out for the crowd.
The photo booth area near the Blue Point Brewing Company table was lined with an eager crowd waiting to have their pictures snapped by the touch screen terminal. Some even brought props in for the photo session.
The first section of the festival featured breweries such as Abita, Firestone, Ace’s and Blue Point Brewing Company. The was parked inside the festival by the entry tables to serve as the perfect backdrop for beer lovers to pose in front of.
It might have been rainy, but it didn’t stop these die-hard brew fans from dressing up in their festival best. Girls with flowers in their hair and fringe hanging from their shirts-men dressed in superhero costumes and others donned in full-on garbage bags made an appearance at the festival. It was a sight to behold.
As the evening went on, Ogee Wawa hit the stage playing to a small, but lively crowd as they through t-shirts at the wet fans. When sampling hours were over the crowd headed to the main stage where John Brown’s Body rocked on as night fell. By time Collie Buddz came on to play, the crowd was soaked and ready to be transported to the Bermudas where the band is originally from.  Collie Buddz got the crowd singing and vibing to their reggae tropical infused beats while the rain came down as hard as the band played.
As the night turned out to be a success, so did the tasting. We were wowed by several drink samples-here are the drinks that made the cut:
Magners Cider
Redds – Apple Crips Cider
Blue Point Brewing Company – Blueberry Ale
Great South Bay – Blood Orange
Ace – Pineapple and Pear Cider
